FabScrap Movement

A project solution evolved from a one day designathon to commemorate World Industrial Design Day 2019.

Our challenge was to try to change the mindset, attitude and behaviour of customers who feel negatively about foods that are not “beautiful” or “perfect”. We aim to start a movement which would spark conversation about the longevity of food life and question the necessity for food to be beautiful.

We developed a storyboard and I designed an onigiri box which would be presented at our first workshop for the movement. An onigiri making session would then be established to get people making beautiful food from food scraps that would be otherwise thrown away. To learn more about this project, you can find our progress and outcomes published here.

Above are images I have taken after the workshop.
